Hampton
The City of Hampton of Hampton, Georgia will be soliciting Request for Bids (RFB) from qualified Electric Utility Line Contractors for planned Distribution (medium voltage) Electric Utility Line Improvements. All prospective Bidders/Contractors will be required to complete and submit for review prequalification documents. All prequalification documents submitted will be vetted before an RFB package is offered.
General Qualifications: Bidder/Contractor must be licensed, must be able to supply proof of public liability insurance with limits of at least one million (1,000,000.00) dollars of coverage, and be able to qualify for a bid bond and performance bond that will equal the total value of the contract which will also include the value of Owner supplied materials. Insurance and bond are to remain valid for the duration of the contract. The Electric Utility Line Contractor must have experience with USDA’s Rural Utility Services (RUS) electrical specifications & construction, and supply references of such experience. Qualified contractor(s) shall supply all labor as well as specific materials for projects. Qualified contractor(s) must have sufficient experienced personnel and proper equipment in order to complete the project by the completion date. Liquidated damage could be incurred should the contractor fail to complete the project on time.
Subcontracting and Subcontractors: Are not permitted without prior review and approval.
Project Scope: This will be a labor-only contract, other than specific Contractor supplied materials that are listed in the RFB (i.e.: stone or concrete pole backfill, erosion items, etc.). The project will consist of reconducting/rebuilding approximately 0.75 miles of three-phase 1/0 ACSR (Raven) to 750 AAC (Cattail) and reconducting/rebuilding approximately 0.25 miles of three-phase 1/0 ACSR (Raven) to 336 ACSR (Merlin). There will be electric utility line right-of-way vegetation clearing required along these routes.
RFB is being released on April 5, 2023.
An RFB will only be supplied to Qualified Contractors.
