Students in the GADJJ School System have the opportunity to complete Career Technical & Agricultural Education classes that enable preparation and entrance in industry occupations upon their exit. Automobile Maintenance & Light Repair fall under the Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Career Cluster is offered at Eastman YDC.

The concepts that are covered include shop and personal safety, tools & equipment, vehicle preparation, engine repair, automatic transmission & transaxle, manual drivetrain, suspension and steering systems, and brakes. Each one of these classes is partnered with a Technical College that serves as the certifying institution for the completion of Automotive Electrical Systems Technician Technical Certificates of Credit.

In order to teach all of the standards required, instructors should have the abilities to purchase the attached list of lab supplies and instructional materials. Additionally, we will need to have a vendor that can provide a turn-key solution that gives us a "one-stop shop" approach to outfitting our lab. Our preferred vendor would need to have access to leading edge manufacturers and provide training, equipment installation, and maintenance of lab equipment and lab trainers.
