Description
Sealed Bids: Sealed bids for construction of the project entitled Vidalia LAS Settling Pond Sludge Removal will be received until March 14 at 2:00pm at the City Manager’s Office, Vidalia City Hall located at 114 Jackson Street, Vidalia, GA 30475 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
Work To Be Done: The Work to be completed for the Vidalia LAS Settling Pond Sludge Removal is described briefly as follows:
The Settling Pond Cleaning project will involve the use of dredging and de-watering technologies to reduce the volume of sludge in the Settling Pond at the South Wastewater Treatment Facility and Land Application System in Vidalia, GA. The purpose of the project is restore usable pond volume for settling of solids and improve the overall treatment efficiency of the plant.
A dredge or similar machine will collect accumulated grit and sludge residuals and pump from the settling pond while the plant remains in service. The contractor shall de-water residuals from the pond on-site utilizing portable de-watering equipment. The finished sludge shall be suitable for disposal at the Toombs County Landfill. Transport of sludge from the plant to the landfill site shall be included in the Contractor’s scope.
