Description

The University of Georgia Grounds Department (Using Agency) on behalf of the Board of Regents of The University System of Georgia (Owner) is soliciting responses from Tree Consultant Firms interested in and capable of providing complete tree inventory services on the campus of The University of Georgia at Athens, GA.

A project description is provided below:

University of Georgia FMD Grounds Department is responsible for maintaining the landscaped environment for Main Campus. The University¿s trees are one of its greatest natural resources. It is important to the University¿s mission to maintain updated and detailed records of its trees to best insure a safe and sustainable environment for the campus grounds and community. UGA¿s existing tree inventory of approximately 8,000 trees was completed in 2009, but has since become outdated. It is necessary to conduct an updated Tree Inventory for an accurate assessment of the University¿s current tree population. The proposed Tree Inventory will include 10,000 trees within this area of approximately 770 acres. The selected company will provide to Grounds Department a GIS database of UGA main campus trees in ArcGIS format and a Tree Canopy Assessment identifying detailed canopy coverage of the main campus.
