Georgia DOT intends to solicit responses from interested firms to provide services to design, construct, and install broadband, a reliable intelligent transportation system (ITS) communication network and connected vehicle (CV) infrastructure along I-75 from SR 92 to the Tennessee state line, I-16 from I-75 in Macon east approximately 166 miles to Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard in Savannah, I-516 near Savannah from Montgomery Street north approximately 7 miles to SR 25/Main Street, I-20 from Panola Road near Atlanta east approximately 138 miles to the Savannah River, and I-520 near Augusta from I-20 east approximately 16 miles to the Savannah River in multiple counties, Georgia. The broadband infrastructure will include fiber optic cable installed in conduit on the shoulder of the interstate for the entire limits of the Project. The Project also includes the deployment of Connected Vehicle Roadside Units, Closed Circuit Television Cameras, and other ITS devices. This Project will be awarded to a Design-Builder utilizing a Two-Phase Low Bid method. A Design-Builder includes a Lead Contractor and a Lead Design Consultant working together to design and construct the project.
