IMPROVEMENTS: The City of Fairburn will accept sealed bids from qualified Contractors for
furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessaiy to complete the SOUTHEAST BROAD STREET
PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT #23-002. The work includes the removal of existing curb & gutter,
sidewalk and driveway aprons, installation of new curb & gutter, installation of new sidewalk,
replacement of existing sidewalk as required, and the installation of new ADA handicap ramps. This
contract will also include preparation of sub-grade, saw-cutting and demolition of existing asphalt
as well as clean up and backfilling. The scope of the base bid will be conducted on the south side
of Southeast Broad Street from west of Fairburn Industrial Boulevard to west of Senoia Road. The
scope of Add Alternate# I consists of all necessa1y labor, materials, and equipment to install new
ADA handicap ramps, and to replace existing handicap ramps, install new sidewalk and replace
existing sidewalk as required, and install new curb & gutter and replace existing curb & gutter and
header curb as required. All work will be conducted on Senoia Road, from SE Broad Street to
Fairburn Industrial Boulevard.

The tie-in to existing segments of sidewalk section shall be at the nearest joint and a clean edge
provided by cutting the full depth of the sidewalk. An expansion joint shall be provided at the
transition in accordance with the specifications and detail ROOS. Concrete used for construction
shall have a minimum 3,000 psi compressive strength at 28 days (ASTM C 39); a 2-inch to 4-ineh
slump (ASTM C 143) and, 3 to 6 percent air content (ASTM C 231 or C 173) and shall comply with ASTM
C 94.

ADA ramps, driveway ramps shall be provided as appropriate at the roadway and driveway crossings.
