The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to AMERICAN SCHOOL HEALTH ASSOCIATION
The purpose of this contract is to help support the dissemination of current science related to the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The American School Health Association (ASHA) will prepare, publish, and disseminate a sponsored special issue of the 2023 Journal of School Health. This issue would highlight the WSCC model and evidence-based interventions for physical activity and nutrition that can be implemented within the model. ASHA is the only known organization with constituents that will further distribute and disseminate a wide range of school health professionals and is the only journal solely dedicated to school health. ASHA is qualified and capable of accomplishing the above, i.e., prepare, publish and disseminate a sponsored special issue of the 2023 Journal of School Health. No other organizations provide these services or have the same audience and reach as ASHA. ASHA is the only known organization who could provide the requested services, i.e., prepare, publish and disseminate a sponsored special issue of the 2023 Journal of School Health.
This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at qsx8@cdc.gov by COB 5, May 18th, 2023.
