The Refuse Driver B is skilled work in the operation of a variety of trucks in the collection of leaves, limbs, and trash. Work sometimes involves supervisory responsibilities over a work crew, and is performed under general supervision of the Sanitation Foreman.

  • Accurately plans and operates street sweeper to complete routes accordingly.
  • Safely hauls and operates leaf machine and conducts routes accordingly.
  • Safety operates knuckle boom truck.
  • Routinely cleans and fuels trucks.
  • Safely operates residential and commercial refuse truck.
  • Accurately maintains dumpsters, carts, and recycling bins by listing and reporting those which need repair.
  • Regularly performs routine maintenance and safety checks on trucks.
  • Often supervises crewmen assisting on route.
  • Assist with maintenance projects as needed or directed.



Minimum Education Level Required
Completion of a standard high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited school.

Minimum Experience Level Required
One (1) year experience in operating a variety of heavy trucks or, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

License(s)
Possession of a valid Georgia Class B CDL driver’s license.

Certification(s)
Completion of a DOT flagger’s course, or obtain within six (6) months of date of hire.
