Description


Separate, sealed Bids will be received for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the installation of site plan improvements to the county’s new jail and courthouse. Inclusive in these improvements are drainage, parking, fencing, and utility improvements. The project shall be funded with Atkinson County’s Transportation Invest Act (TIA) Local Discretionary Funds as awarded from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Bid shall be received until 2:00pm (local time), Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at which time bids will be opened and read.

The meeting will be held at Atkinson County Board of Commissioners’ Office and will be opened to the public. Proposals can be mailed or delivered to the attention of Mrs. Nina Lott, Finance County Clerk for the Atkinson County Board of Commissioners, 86 Main Street, Pearson, Georgia 31642. Proposals received after the designated time will not be considered.

The Scope of Work Includes: Site Plan Improvements to Include Drainage, Parking, Fencing, and Utility Improvements.

All proposals shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in favor of the Atkinson County Board of Commissioners in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the lump sum bid for the complete work: such Bid Bond representing that the Bidder, if awarded a Contract, will promptly enter into a Contract and furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bonds as provided by the law and approved by the Attorney for the Atkinson County Board of Commissioners. Performance Bond shall be equal to 100 Percent (100%) of the contract amount and Payment Bond shall be equal to 100 percent (100%) of the Contract amount.

All work on the project must be completed within 120 consecutive calendar days of date work begins. Contractor is expected to begin work within 30 days after project award. Anticipated project award by the Board of Commissioners is March 9, 2023.
