Description


The work shall consist of furnishing all products and equipment and performing all labor necessary to perform the following:

Sanitary sewerage system rehabilitation including, but not limited to, replacing clay sewer mains with approximately 1,405-LF of 8” HDPE sewer mains using the pipe burst method. The project will also consist of sewer lateral replacement, and manhole rehabilitation.

Water system improvements including, but not limited to, installation of 1,078-LF of 6” C-900 PVC water main, two connections into the existing water main, three new 6” gate valves, and a 6” fire hydrant assembly including a 6” cut off valve.

Time allotted for completion of work is one hundred eighty (180) calendar days.

Drainage improvements including, but not limited to, installation of 2,190-LF of 24” rollover curb and gutter, 122-LF of 24” storm pipe, 528-LF of 18” storm pipe, and 376-LF of 15” storm pipe. The project will also consist of curb inlets, pavement replacement, roadway pavement overlay, sediment control, and grassing.

Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier’s check in an amount not less than 10% of the base bid. The Scope of Work as described herein is defined as “utility contracting”.

Funding is to be provided by the Community Development Block Grant Program which is administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Funding also provided by the City of Millen. All Bidders must comply with 41 CFR 60-4, in regard to affirmative action, to ensure equal opportunity to females and minorities and will apply the timetables and goals set forth in 41 CFR 60-4, as applicable to the area of the project. This project is covered under the requirements of Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968.
