Purpose of Procurement
Pursuant to the State Purchasing Act (Official Code of Georgia Annotated 50-5-50 et seq.), this electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) is being issued to establish a contract with a qualified supplier who will provide Residential Network Internet Services to Valdosta State University (the State Entity) as further described in this eRFP.
The objective of this eRFP, pending funding for the fiscal year 2024, is to procure Internet Services for the campus residential network.  The State Entity currently has 7 residence halls housing approximately 2300 student residents.  The residence halls are currently allotted 2Gbps of campus bandwidth, which is used to near capacity from 12:00 pm until 12:00 am.  VSU is seeking 5Gbps of symmetrical bandwidth with provider handoffs in primary and secondary locations for redundancy; 24x7 monitoring and support; caching services for frequently accessed data; QoS and prioritization for SIP protocol and TTY devices; adequate IP addresses to support a /22 network.   Valdosta State University will not pay for vendor build-out, equipment, or setup costs.
