Bid Request for 2023 Mill and Inlay on Various County Roads

Separate, sealed bids will be received for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the construction of the aforementioned project.

Bids will be received by the Coweta County Board of Commissioners, Coweta County Georgia, herein referred to as “Owner” and bid documents can be purchased at the Coweta County Public Works Office, 70 Selt Road, Newnan, Georgia until 10:45 a.m. (local time) on March 24, 2023. Bids must be received by 11:00 a.m. (local time) on March 24, 2023 at the Coweta County Administration Office, 22 East Broad Street, Newnan, Georgia. After such time on the same day, bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Commission Chambers at 37 Perry Street, Newnan, Georgia. Bids received after the designated time will not be considered. Bids shall be clearly marked and sealed.

The Major Items of Work Consist of:

  1. Traffic Control (Includes Temporary Striping);
  2. Milling Asphalt Concrete Pavement; 284,220 SY
  3. Recycled Asphalt Concrete: Patching, 12.5MM, Perma Flex and Bituminous Tack; 35,983 tons
  4. Thermoplastic Striping

Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in the best interest of the County.

Work is as specified in the Bid Document and is to be done in accordance with current GDOT standards and specifications.

The Instruction to Bidders, form of Bid, form of Contract, Drawings, forms of Bid Bond, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and other contract documents are available for review at the Coweta County Public Works office located at 70 Selt Road, Newnan Georgia, 30263 (770-683-7623). Bid Documents and Specifications may be obtained at the above address for the cost of $50.00 each.

No bid will be accepted from a bidder who has not obtained a set of bid documents from the above-mentioned office. No bid will be accepted from a bidder who does not meet the pre-qualification requirements outlined in paragraph B.01.

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond prepared on an accepted form, duly executed by the bidder, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid.

Owner reserves the right to waive any formality or informality or to reject any or all bids, to evaluate bids, and to accept any bid which in its opinion may be for the best interest of Owner. Owner has the right to add to and delete from the contract once it has been awarded. Award, if award is made, will be to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.

The successful bidder for this contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor and material payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
