Description
SUMMARY: This is a Sources Sought notice and not a request for quotes. This request is solely for the purpose of conducting market research to enhance VHA s understanding of the market s offered products, services and capabilities. The Government will not pay any costs for responses submitted in response to this Sources Sought.
This Sources Sought notice provides an opportunity for respondents to submit their notice of ability, and their available products and services in response to the requirement described below. Vendors are being invited to submit information relative to their potential of fulfilling the requirement below, in the form of a capability response that addresses the specific requirement identified in this Sources Sought.
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is seeking a vendor to provide the following products and/or services below. Please see the General Requirements section below for the requested products/services and descriptions. This Sources Sought is to facilitate the Contracting Officer s review of the market base, for acquisition planning, size determination, and procurement strategy.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Atlanta VA Medical Center requires brand name or equal equipment for the Aperio GT 450 Next Generation Scanner. Below are the following items required.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Salient (minimum) Characteristics
Equipment must meet the following specifications:
Automated pathological slide scanner with a high throughput and resolution of scanning of at least:
Continuous rack loading
60 seconds per slide
Overall output of up to 81 slides per hour
Magnification of 40x
Resolution of 0.26 m/pixel at 40x magnification
Ability to have no touch scanning and continuous loading of slides on racks with a maximum slide capacity of 450
The device should be a tabletop device
Ability to be integrated with a versatile software and server for the scanning of the pathological slides from our Veteran patients:
Slide management software that provides easy access for slide sharing for consultations and collaborations between our tumor board members.
Images must be in the svs type file format, which is suitable for slide de-identification and files can be exported from the slide for image analysis.
The product capabilities and salient characteristics identified above by a brand name or equal description are intended to be descriptive, not restrictive, and to indicate the quality and characteristics of the product that will be satisfactory. Quotes offering "equal products (including products of the brand name manufacturer other than the one described by the brand name) will be considered if such product is clearly identified in the quote and is determined by the VA to meet fully the salient characteristics on above products. If offering an equivalent product, the brand name of the equivalent product shall be clearly identified in the quote. Unless visibly identified as an equivalent product, offered items shall be considered as the brand name product referenced in this announcement.
RESPONSE COMMITMENT:
I. Response:
A. Capability statement and a list of the salient characteristics. Please provide your socioeconomic status, and size classification (large business, small business, SDVOSB, VOSB, etc.), and the approximate shipping time from the date of order. Please indicate if your company is an authorized dealer for this product. No 3rd part resellers are acceptable.
All responses should be directed to annmarie.stewart@va.gov by December 28, 2022, 3PM EST.
B. Submittals furnished will not be returned to the sender. No debriefs will be conducted. Eligibility in participating in a future acquisition does not depend upon a response to this notice.
C. Proprietary information is neither requested nor desired. If such information is submitted, it must clearly be marked "proprietary" on every sheet containing such information, and the proprietary information must be segregated to the maximum extent practicable from other portions of the response (e.g., use an attachment or exhibit).
