The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Abbott Molecular, Inc. We propose to contract with Abbott Molecular, Inc. which provides valid regulations of proper and safe operations of the Abbott Alinity m NAT system which is used for the analysis of DBS, plasma and other types of specimens. This system is a unique product of Abbott, and this is the only company that can provide genuine parts and services to ensure proper operation and calibration. Reliable operation of the equipment is paramount for advancement of research study projects with valuable analytical data.
The equipment is manufactured by Abbott using proprietary technology. Allowing other providers to service this equipment would be considered third parties and would not have the technical expertise, knowledge, and/or skills to work on or provide tech support on the items.
This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at uid1@cdc.gov by COB December 16, 2022.
